Lipfert joins LTK

F. William (“Bill”) Lipfert Jr. has joined LTK Engineering Services as Practice Manager for Operations Planning and Simulation, a newly created position. He will be based in a new LTK office in Lebanon, N.H.

Lipfert was formerly a vice president responsible for the computer simulation and software development practice at SYSTRA Consulting, where he started that practice and grew it to a staff of 20. In addition to his practice respbill-lipfert.jpgonsibilities, he served as project manager for the New York State Department of Transportation Empire Corridor West Transportation Plan Project, as well as for a New York City Transit signal design software project. Lipfert has also served as project manager for contracts with Amtrak, Metra, Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North, NJ Transit, MBTA, NICTD, SRTD, and other properties. 

Lipfert has worked in the rail industry for 27 years, starting his career as a computer systems analyst responsible for network simulation at the LIRR. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1982 and has expertise in simulation modeling, including rail network simulation, train performance calculations, traction power modeling, and signal block layout/safe braking distance analysis.
