First Union Rail acquires 2,370 cars

First Union Rail announced Tuesday that it has acquired 2,370 mill gondolas, flatcars, coal gondolas and hoppers valued at more than $100 million. No further details were given.

"We're committed to being a leader in the rail industry," said Jack Thomas, head of First Union Rail. "Continuing to build and diversify our fleet will help us grow our position in the industry by delivering the best equipment and service."

A Wells Fargo Company, First Union Rail has a leasing fleet exceeding 90,000 railcars and other intermodal equipment.
