Ellcon National, a subsidiary of Faiveley Transport, and Amsted Rail have created a joint venture that Faiveley Chairman and CEO Robert Joyeux says "will enable heavy haul railcar customers to purchase complete systems with a wider range of components from a single supplier.”

“Ellcon National’s existing brake component portfolio will be integrated with Amsted Rail’s extensive undercarriage systems enabling railcar designers and their customers to access an unprecedented component engineering team,” said John Wories, president of Amsted Rail.

An announcement Friday said the partnering will produce "synergies [that] will enhance railcar performance and increase the life cycle savings of an Amsted Rail–Ellcon National equipped railcar."

The two companies have independently provided freight car systems for more than 100 years.
