Amsted Rail, the longtime supplier of trucks and related components to the freight rail market, has unveiled Amsted Rail Transit, a broad portfolio of products for the passenger rail sector.

The Chicago-based company unveiled the new division at recent American Public Transportation Association Expo in Atlanta.

“This expansion into the passenger rail side of the business is a natural evolution for us,” said John Wories, president of Amsted Rail. “It leverages our long track record for reliability, innovation and leadership in heavy haul rail and lets us bring the same strengths to deliver leading-edge truck assemblies and end-of-car components for the transit sector.”

Amsted Rail Transit is introducing a full array of American engineered and made products for the transit market, from complete Transit Truck Systems, to the proven General Steel Industries (GSI) product line, to end-of-car components.

“Not only can we offer public transit best-in-class products, all made here in the USA,” said Stephen Becker, executive vice president-transit, “but our cutting edge testing facilities ensure unmatched reliability. That adds up to peace of mind for our customers.”
