Larry Stockton and Robert Olin, two veteran rail industry executives who earlier this year launched 360 Rail Services, LLC, a new venture providing engineering, design, construction, maintenance, logistics and transloading services to rail shippers across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region, have acquired Railroad Specialties Inc., a Centennial, Colo.-based railroad design, construction, maintenance and repair company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Railroad Specialties’ 15 employees have joined 360 Rail Services at 360’s headquarters at the Inverness Business Park in Englewood, Colo.

“This acquisition is critical for our company as we continue to expand our footprint in the rail industry,” said Stockton, CEO of 360 Rail Services. “Railroad Specialties has completed many infrastructure projects in the Rocky Mountain region and elsewhere. Their team has more than 100 years of management industry experience, and this acquisition of their assets, projects and employees will bring valuable expertise to our operations in Colorado and beyond.”

Stockton and Olin, who serves as 360’s COO and President, helped co-found Railroad Services in 2000. Olin spent 17 years with that company before reconnecting with Stockton to start 360. Stockton had left Railroad Services in 2011 to join HDR Engineering’s Denver office as Regional Director of Industrial Rai.

Stockton has more than 20 years of experience in the railroad industry, in terminal design, operations and construction. He has been a senior track inspector, foreman and locomotive engineer for Class I railroads and has extensive experience in multiple design software and railcar operation platforms. Olin has more than 25 years of railroad construction experience, planning and project management.
