Wolf served as President and CEO of RSI from 1987, when he founded it as an independent railway consulting firm in Atlanta, Ga. He developed RSI into one of the railway industry’s premier consulting services, with an advanced testing and metallurgical analysis laboratory in Omaha, Neb. TÜV Rheinland acquired RSI in 2010, making RSI services available to clients worldwide through its international network of laboratories.
Prior to founding RSI, Wolf served in various roles at Norfolk Southern in Atlanta. He was a frequent speaker at industry educational events and is an author of many technical presentations.
TÜV Rheinland, a provider of independent testing, inspection, and certification services, recently consolidated its mobility divisions into one business unit, uniting RSI, Rail Safety Consulting, Automotive Engineering, and Intelligent Transportation Systems into TÜV Rheinland Mobility. Sebastian Oertel, Director of Mobility, TÜV Rheinland, will take over the new business unit’s operational responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer.

In his role as Director of Mobility, Oertel has worked at TÜV Rheinland for two years. Before that, he served as Global Head of Business Development-Transportation and Wind at AEG Power Solutions in Warstein, Germany, and as Sales Manager at Bombardier Transportation in Berlin, Germany and Pittsburgh, Penn. Oertel holds a degree in business from Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen, Germany.
