Help us build the exciting future of public transit. SMART is a voter‐approved passenger rail and bicycle‐pedestrian pathway project located in Marin and Sonoma counties in Northern California. Our railroad is currently under construction. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual who enjoys working with new equipment, creating new processes and systems, and motivating a staff to maintain and operate a first class public service.
Under direction of the Manager of Operations, this position will be responsible for all activities of the Signals and Way Department, including signal and track maintenance, and development, maintenance and implementation of the Signals and Way maintenance practices and support systems to ensure efficient, effective, safe and reliable service to the general public. Together with the Manager of Operations, and Superintendents of Transportation and Vehicle Maintenance, this position forms part of the senior management of the SMART Operations Department.
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, engineering or a related field plus six years of full-time management or supervisorial experience in a passenger railroad or public transportation rail maintenance environment is desired.
