Canadian Pacific Monday announced the resignation of Mike Franczak, executive vice president and chief operations officer, effective immediately. CP CEO E. Hunter Harrison said a replacement would not be named immediately.

Franczak (photo at left) joined CP 25 years ago and advanced through a series of operating positions.

"I wish to congratulate Mike on his distinguished career and thank him for his 25 years of dedication to CP and its customers," said Harrison. "Mike served the company well in all areas for which he had responsibility. We wish him success in his future endeavors."

A CP spokesman said COO responsibilities will be led by Harrison, “who is closely involved in all facets of the company, including duties that Mr. Franczak performed.”
