RailComm has been selected by Herzog Technologies, which has offices in Oceanside, Calif., to provide a wireless remote control yard system for the Port of Los Angeles.

Fairport, N.Y.-based RailComm's power switch machines will be remotely controlled by a combination of RailComm's Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) System and handheld DTMF radios. The DOC System includes a workstation that allows the user to monitor device status and review operation logs of all system activity. The workstation will display a graphical representation of the yard area, and the user will be able to view all of the devices in the field.

RailComm's Switch Position Indicators (SPIs) will be used to indicate the status and position of the switch. RailComm SPI(s) utilize LED-based indications. This design provides a high-visibility, low power device that is reliable and easy to maintain. The SPIs provided will be configured with bi-directional, triple-aspect indications.

RailComm's 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum RADiANT™ data radios will be used to establish a wireless communications network link.
